Bike Right 10 (BikeFrite)

29-31 October 2004, Wooler Youth Hostel, Wooler

Storms in the weeks before and with the railways out of action, it was time for another Bikeright.

On a dark Friday night, the Brompton and I made our weary way from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Wooler.

Slide shows were already in progress as Ken worked his way through the best party of 3000 slides.  As the night wore on, Seamus did the honourable thing and developed the signs of concussion that should rightfully have belonged to Paul Stobbs, but then that’s alcohol for you.  Saturday’s ride took us over the misty moors to Belford for morning coffee and then the rides split.  I headed along the coast to find a crazy golf course, while others partook of artist’s studios.   More slides entertained us on Saturday night, as the debate ranged as to whether the clocks going back meant more cycling, slides, or drinking.  Sunday was the traditional jaunt to Kirk Yetholm for lunch and quizzes.  I headed back to B-u-T for the bus journey home.  See you all next year !
