Bike Right 9.5

13-15 February 2004, Longridge Towers, Berwick-upon-Tweed

Valentine’s weekend and I could be with my nearest and dearest. Yes, it was BikeRight 9.5

Destination Longridge Towers, expertly organised by Phil and entertained by Jason, cyclists gathered for a weekend of cycling, eating, and socialising.

Rolling off the Friday night train from Stirling, I settled down to enjoy a scrummy lasagne before a viewing of Belleville Rendevous and a good night’s sleep.  But first Seamus had to be presented with his birthday present in a shower of sprinkler sparks.

For me Saturday’s ride was a 55-miler led by Phil, while others chose Jason’s 45-mile ride of unknown distance or Ken’s hilly wander.  Plenty of tea shops on all routes and some fun punctures too.  Sunday was the traditional wander to Coldingham before we all went our separate ways.

Thanks everyone for your efforts – an excellent weekend.

Important Trivia

The Saturday night quiz was by won by The South by South Westerlys (9˝ points), who wopped Seamus’s group (5 points).  Good quiz Mike – more questions like that next year please!  Trevor and Sharon won the spot-the-difference quiz.  These quizzes really do reflect Corinthian values in that all that counts is the fame and glory of victory, the prizes being worthless.
